Generally within these descriptions, the only thing that could vary greatly is the associated direction – in my own practice, I place Earth in the South and Fire in the North; but traditionally this is reversed. Some place Earth in the East and Air in the North. It depends on your teachings or, if solitary, what feels right to you. If you live where there is physically water in the east, you might wish to honour water in the east. It’s up to you.

Stones: Onyx, jade, amethyst, fluorite (to be fair, most stones could be Earth stones, since they mostly come from the earth)
Properties: Fertility, jobs, money, business, health, ecology, nature, stability.
Animals: Doves, wolf, fox, deer, turtle
Stones: Moonstone, turquoise, rhodochrosite
Properties: Memory, intellect, test-taking, divination, psychic ability, travel, overcoming addictions.
Animals: Porcupine, coyote, fox, squirrel, hawk, mouse, deer, bear, snakes
Stones: Amber, citrine, smoky crystals, gold, copper
Properties: Success, sex, illness, protection, legal matters, competitions, strength, energy.
Animals: All sea mammals, all sea birds, fish, night creatures, ravens
Stones: Silver, river rocks, amethyst, coral, seashells, rainbow-coloured crystals
Properties: Love, friendship, meditation, healing, dreams, childbirth, clairvoyance, purification.
